The car is an amazing little beast. It may not have a lot of power, but come on, it's a 4 cylinder. It has plenty for its size. Lots of room for bigger people. Especially leg and head room. I never feel cramped when riding in it.

Best Little Car

This is the best little car. I had a Geo Metro, and this somewhat reminds me of it in terms of its size and looks, but this is a much better quality. The inside reminds me of a minivan, and is very roomy for its size. I have received many compliments on the car and the color (teal/aqua) from total strangers, including the McDonald's drive thru window lady! A great little car for commuting to the city or for interstate travel (I do both every week). The suspension is perfect; it turns on a dime and gives you change back. I highly recommend this car to anyone.

Great Commuter Auto

I have owned the Aveo for several months. My city gasoline consumption is 29.3mpg. No mechanical problems so far. I paid a bit over $11K. The radio/CD is OK, but not great. Handling is quick at less than 45mph but a touch vague at freeway speeds. I purchased this auto because it was inexpensive. I also looked at the VW Golf Diesel and Honda Civic Hybrid. The Aveo provides many of the same features for $10K less...and that, in my mind, makes up for the lower fuel economy.

At approx. 70K mi. the alternator and serpentine belt went out. A couple hundred miles later, there was a loud pop and my engine blew. The "L" shaped piece that connects the engine to the radiator actually blew out of the engine. Of course it's not under warranty and I have another year to pay on it!I don't recommend you buy this car!

3 deer later...

This was my 4th car, and I had a SUV before hand. I wanted something better on gas and found my Aveo. Its been a great car, although my friends give me a hard time about it, I can always remind them that I pay a fraction in gas and car payments that they do. I've had it almost 3 years and have hit 3 deer (ahh life in the country). Glad to report most damage ever done was a dented hood and a cracked head light. By far the best car I have ever owned, its good on mileage and handles great.
