The 2017 XC90 Excellence is described as the "most luxurious car in Volvo Cars' 89-year history," the automaker said.

Key rivals to the XC90 Excellence include top-of-the-line versions of the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Infiniti QX80 and Porsche Cayenne.

The 2016 Volvo XC90 is on sale now at Volvo dealerships starting at $50,795, including a $995 destination charge.
