What is the Tommy Tanks Gas Giveaway?

Edmunds is teaming up with Dodgers fan-favorite Tommy 'Tanks' Edman to give away $25K in free gas to Dodgers fans on Sept. 25. The event was inspired by an Edmunds survey that showed just how dedicated Dodgers fans are: 80% said they'd choose another World Championship over $1 gas, and nearly one-third said they'd spend five hours or more traveling to and from a Dodgers home game in October. With fans willing to turn down cheap gas and brave LA traffic for their team, Edmunds and Edman are helping put a little gas back in their tanks.

Do I need to arrive in a car?

Yes. Participants must arrive and enter Longo Lexus by car; walk-up participants are not eligible for the giveaway. Wristbands and gift cards are limited to one per vehicle, and a wristband is required to claim a gift card.

Do I need to arrive in a Lexus vehicle?

No, you don’t need to drive a Lexus to participate. Vehicles from all automakers are welcome!

Will Tommy Edman be at the event?

Unfortunately Tommy won't be there as the Dodgers have an away game at San Francisco that day.

Can multiple people in my car participate in the giveaway?

You're welcome to bring passengers, but gas gift cards are limited to one per vehicle. After completing the participation form on-site, one eligible participant per vehicle may redeem the wristband for one $75 gas gift card, while supplies last.  

Who is eligible to participate?

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver's license. Additional eligibility requirements apply; see the Official Rules below for complete details.

How will I know if I'll receive a gas gift card? 

If your vehicle is among the first 333 to arrive at the Peck Road entrance, you will receive an event wristband. Once you receive a wristband, your $75 gas gift card will be reserved while you complete the participation form.

Can I arrive early?

The Tommy Tanks Gas Giveaway begins at 6 p.m. Fans who arrive early may enter Longo Lexus beginning at 5:30 p.m. to receive a wristband and park before heading to the showroom. Entry and wristband distribution will not begin before 5:30 p.m.

Do I need to wear Dodgers gear?

No, but it's encouraged! Come ready to show your Dodgers spirit as we fuel up LA fans for the October run.

Do I need to sign up in advance?

No. A participation form will be available via QR code onsite. Follow the instructions on the form to complete the required steps.

Is a gas gift card guaranteed if I attend?

No. A total of 333 $75 gas gift cards will be available while supplies last. Arriving at the event does not guarantee a gift card.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Enter Longo Lexus by car through the main entrance on Peck Road, where you'll receive your wristband and be directed to a designated parking area. Once parked, follow event signage and staff directions to the Longo Lexus showroom.

What else can I expect at the event?

While at Longo Lexus, fans can use the Tommy Tanks Gas Calculator on Edmunds, browse vehicles in the showroom and connect with Longo staff, enjoy additional event activities including photo opportunities, and show their Dodgers spirit.

Will there be filming or photography at the event?

Yes. Photos, video and audio will be captured during the event and may be used by Edmunds, Longo Lexus and their partners for promotional purposes, including on social media, websites and in advertising. By attending the event, you agree that your image, voice or likeness may be captured and used without compensation.

Official Rules

1. Overview

On September 25, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time ("PT") and continuing until 8:00 p.m. PT, or while supplies last (the "Giveaway Period"), Edmunds.com, Inc. ("Sponsor") is hosting a promotional giveaway (the "Giveaway") at Longo Lexus, located in El Monte, California (3530 Peck Rd, El Monte, CA 91731) ("Host," and the Host's premises, the "Location"). Eligible visitors who arrive at the Location by vehicle during the Giveaway Period or the early vehicle access period described in Section 4, receive a wristband (see Section 6), and complete the required participation steps described in Section 5 will receive one (1) complimentary gas gift card in the amount of $75, redeemable at participating gas stations (each, a "Gas Card"), while supplies last. A total of 333 Gas Cards (a total value of approximately $25,000) will be made available for the Giveaway.

2. No Purchase Necessary; Not a Sweepstakes, Contest, or Lottery

NO PURCHASE, PAYMENT, OR FEE OF ANY KIND IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN OR RECEIVE A GAS CARD UNDER THIS GIVEAWAY. This Giveaway does not involve a game of chance, drawing, or random winner selection of any kind. Every eligible participant who completes the steps described in Section 5 below and receives a wristband as described in Section 6 will receive a Gas Card, subject only to the quantity and one-per-vehicle limitations described in Section 6. This Giveaway is not a raffle, sweepstakes, lottery, or contest.

3. Sponsor and Host

This Giveaway is sponsored by Edmunds.com, Inc., 2038 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA 90404 ("Sponsor"), and is hosted at the dealership premises of Longo Lexus, 3530 Peck Rd, El Monte, CA 91731 ("Host"). Sponsor is solely responsible for the Gas Cards, the Tools (as defined below), and administration of the Giveaway. Host is providing the Location and on-site event support but is not itself distributing or funding the Gas Cards. References in these Rules to action by "Sponsor and Host" or to the "Giveaway Parties" refer to both parties acting through their respective on-site staff and representatives. 

4. Giveaway Period; Location; Early Vehicle Access

The publicly advertised start time for the Giveaway is 6:00 p.m. PT to 8:00 p.m. PT on September 25, 2026, at the Location, while supplies last. Host may begin permitting event vehicles onto the Location and distributing wristbands (see Section 6) at approximately 5:30 p.m. PT. Entry and wristband distribution will not begin before 5:30 p.m. PT. Eligibility, the one-Gas-Card-per-vehicle limit, and all other terms of these Rules apply identically regardless of whether a vehicle arrives before or after 6:00 p.m. PT. Sponsor and Host reserve the right to modify, shorten, extend, or cancel the Giveaway Period, or to relocate the Giveaway, at any time and for any reason, including depletion of the Gas Card supply, without notice or liability, except where prohibited by law.

5. Eligibility; How to Participate 

To receive a Gas Card, an individual must: (a) be a legal resident of the United States who is at least 18 years of age and has a valid driver’s license; (b) arrive at and enter the Location in a motor vehicle during the Giveaway Period (including the early access window described in Section 4) and receive a wristband in accordance with Section 6; (c) proceed to the designated activation area inside the Lexus showroom; and (d) complete the required participation steps in that area, which currently include: (i) completing the onsite Google Form (see Section 11), and (ii) engaging with the Edmunds Gas Calculator or another Edmunds digital tool designated by Sponsor (collectively, the "Tools") as directed by Sponsor staff on-site. Walk-up participants are not eligible to participate. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and Host (and their immediate family/household members) are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law.

6. Wristbands; Limit: One Gas Card Per Vehicle

Regardless of the number of occupants in a vehicle, only one (1) wristband will be issued per eligible vehicle arriving at the Location, and only one (1) Gas Card may ultimately be redeemed per wristband. Wristband supply corresponds one-to-one with the available Gas Card supply (333 total). Once the final wristband has been distributed, no additional vehicles or attendees will be eligible to receive a Gas Card, and Sponsor and Host will communicate on-site that all available Gas Cards have been claimed. Sponsor and Host reserve the right to determine, in their sole discretion, which individual within a vehicle receives the wristband and Gas Card if more than one occupant seeks to redeem it.

7. Verification

The wristband issued under Section 6 is the primary means of verifying eligibility and enforcing the one-Gas-Card-per-vehicle limit; only an individual wearing a valid, currently issued wristband may complete the redemption steps in Section 5 and receive a Gas Card. Sponsor and Host also reserve the right to request a participant's name, a valid driver's license or other government-issued photo ID, and/or vehicle license plate number, and to disqualify any individual who does not provide requested verification information, who is not wearing a valid wristband, who Sponsor or Host believes in good faith is attempting to circumvent the one-per-vehicle limit (e.g., by obtaining more than one wristband), or who provides false or misleading information.

8. Gas Cards; Availability

Gas Cards are available while supplies last. Sponsor and Host do not guarantee that a Gas Card will be available at any particular time during the Giveaway Period and may end distribution at any time once the supply of wristbands/Gas Cards is exhausted, even if before the stated end of the Giveaway Period. Each Gas Card is a $75 physical gas gift card redeemable at participating gas stations and will be distributed onsite to eligible participants who complete the participation requirements described in these Rules. Gas Cards are not redeemable for cash and are not transferable or assignable prior to redemption. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a gift card of equal value for any reason.

9. No Purchase or Transaction Required; No Effect on Vehicle Transactions

Participation in this Giveaway, and receipt of a Gas Card, is not conditioned on the purchase, lease, sale, or servicing of any vehicle, and does not obligate the participant to enter into, or affect the terms of, any transaction with Sponsor, Host, or any other party.

10. Taxes

Any applicable federal, state, or local taxes associated with receipt of a Gas Card are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

11. Personal Information; Privacy; Google Form

As part of the redemption steps in Section 5, participants will be asked to complete a Google Form collecting, at minimum, their name and email address. Before distributing a Gas Card, Sponsor or Host staff will verify that the participant has a valid wristband and has completed the required Google Form. Participants may also be asked a small number of optional questions, which are not required in order to receive a Gas Card. The Google Form should also include, at minimum: (a) a link to Sponsor's Privacy Policy; (b) a required acknowledgment that the participant has read and agrees to these Official Rules; and (c) a brief eligibility self-certification consistent with Section 5 (e.g., confirming the participant is at least the required age and arrived in a vehicle that has not already received a wristband/Gas Card). Information collected will be used solely to administer the Giveaway — including verifying participation and delivering the Gas Card — and will be handled in accordance with Sponsor's Privacy Policy. 

12. Filming, Photography, and Recording

The Location, including the activation area, may be filmed, photographed, and/or recorded by or on behalf of Sponsor and Host. Signage will be posted at the entrances to the activation area notifying attendees of this filming. By entering the activation area, attendees consent to being filmed, photographed, or recorded, and to Sponsor's and Host's use of their image, voice, and/or likeness captured in connection with the Giveaway for promotional, marketing, and other business purposes, in any media now known or later developed, without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Attendees selected for a close-up interview or feature segment will be asked to sign a separate individual waiver and release, which will govern for those attendees to the extent its terms differ from this Section.

13. General Conditions; Release

By participating in this Giveaway, each participant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless Edmunds.com, Inc., Longo Lexus, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, losses, or liability arising out of or in connection with participation in this Giveaway, presence at the Location, or receipt or use of a Gas Card, except to the extent such claims arise from the Released Parties' gross negligence or willful misconduct, and except where such a release is prohibited by law. Sponsor and Host reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify this Giveaway, or these Rules, at any time and for any reason, without prior notice, subject to applicable law.

14. Compliance with Law

This Giveaway is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Sponsor and Host will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations in connection with the administration of this Giveaway.

15. Governing Law

These Rules, and any dispute arising out of or relating to this Giveaway, will be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
