- Texoma Hyundai ranked number one among U.S. Hyundai dealers for customer service satisfaction in 2013, Hyundai Motor America announced on Wednesday.
- The Sherman, Texas, dealership topped more than 820 Hyundai dealers in the area of service customer satisfaction.
- The ranking is based on regular surveys of customers who recently had their vehicles serviced at Hyundai dealerships.
SHERMAN, Texas — Texoma Hyundai topped more than 820 U.S. Hyundai dealerships in the area of service customer satisfaction for 2013, Hyundai Motor America announced on Wednesday.
The dealership also ranked first overall among the 154 dealers in Hyundai's South Central Region.
The number one ranking was awarded by Hyundai Motor America based on its Hyundai Service Index (HSI), derived from regular surveys of customers who recently had service performed on their vehicles at dealerships around the country.
In addition to identifying top-performing service departments, Hyundai says the survey is set up to help dealers spot trends, run reports and analyze service data related to their businesses and even individual employees.
"We are proud of the service department at Texoma Hyundai and its commitment to their customers," said Frank Ferrara, executive vice president of customer satisfaction for Hyundai Motor America. "Service customer satisfaction is very important to Hyundai Motor America, and we cannot build our reputation without the support of our local dealers. Receiving first-rate treatment throughout the life of their Hyundai vehicle is what our customers expect."
Jason Brewer, service manager at Texoma Hyundai told Edmunds that he and his crew "worked hard to get there. We got to number one in the region but never thought we'd get to this level. We're very proud."
Brewer attributes Texoma Hyundai's success to a hands-on approach and "going the extra mile. As a smaller dealership we try to go beyond what most dealers do. If someone's having trouble with their car, and we can't get them in here right away, we'll go to them to check out the problem."
Brewer also notes that his own background as a technician may give him "some knowledge that most guys behind the desk don't have. It all starts with the first meeting with the customer, and from there we're hands-on from start to finish."
Whether or not Texoma Hyundai can retain its status as the number one Hyundai dealer in the country for customer service remains to be seen. But, said Brewer: "We're sure going to try."
