Summit Place Kia of Waterford and Mt. Clemens Supports Veterans With Golf Tournament

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan Summit Place Kia of Waterford and Mt. Clemens is supporting U.S. veterans through a golf tournament set for July 19.

The dealership is partnering with Auto Credit Express of Auburn Hills to host the 5th Annual LaLonde Charity Open. Richard LaLonde is the dealer principal.

Proceeds will benefit the local Friends of the Veterans Treatment Court to assist veterans with mental-health treatment, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, transportation, food, housing and counseling, along with a veteran-mentor program.

The effort seeks "to address the underlying issues that brought the veteran into the court system and guide these men and women back on track to a healthy and productive life," according to an Auto Credit Express statement on Thursday.

In 2014, the LaLonde Charity Open and related fundraising efforts raised $90,779 to help veterans.

The golf tournament will be held at the Golf Course at Pine Knob.

Edmunds says: Summit Place Kia's Facebook page is filled with photos of happy customers. The dealership is extending that goodwill to U.S. veterans.
