AMARILLO, Texas — Street Toyota and Street Volkswagen are driving up their Facebook traffic while giving customers a second chance to attend a local prom with the Street Sweetheart Prom Package Giveaway, a prize valued at $1,000.
To enter, online users "like" the Facebook pages of Street Toyota, Street Volkswagen, Indulge Salon & Day Spa and Martha's Home 8th annual Second Chance Prom. They must comment, revealing who will be accompanying them to the April 23 event if they win.
The winner, chosen at random on April 12, will receive two tickets to the prom, a package for two to Indulge Salon and Day Spa, a free tuxedo rental from Al's Formal Wear, $300 for a prom dress and roundtrip limo service for the evening from Royal Limo Service.
The prom is the biggest fundraiser for Martha's Home, which provides housing for homeless women and children with an emphasis on self-sufficiency, Mary Kay Kuhrts, its development director, told Edmunds.
"Street Toyota has helped the past three years but this year they wanted to have an even bigger sponsorship," Kuhrts said.
Much of that desire to donate more to the "Enchantment Under the Sea" prom was because Street Auto's marketing director, Flo Lopez, regularly volunteers at Martha's Home.
"We realized that they provide so much more than housing and they needed more funding," Lopez told Edmunds.
Lopez added: "We've been here 33 years and sometimes it's not about selling cars. It's about helping them reach their goal of selling tickets to more than 100 tables and raising $80,000."
