Stokes Volkswagen Raffles 2008 Rabbit To Help Special-Needs Baseball League

NORTH CHARLESTON, South Carolina Stokes Volkswagen is raffling a 2008 VW Rabbit to raise money for the Summerville Miracle League, which helps children with disabilities play baseball on a rubberized field that looks like a traditional one but allows access for mobility devices.

The dealership hopes to sell 1,000 tickets for $10 each.

The 2008 Rabbit is currently on display in the showroom of Stokes Honda North. The Stokes Automotive Group has 12 stores, four of them in the North Charleston area. All four are selling the raffle tickets, Mike Mazell, Stokes Volkswagen manager, told Edmunds.

"I've taken the Rabbit to a few of the Summerville baseball games and let the children paint their handprints on it with washable paint," Mazell said. "I want to draw attention to this good cause."

The dealership will announce the winning raffle ticket on July 8 at the free Rockin' the River concert at Riverfront Park in North Charleston.

The concert kicks off VW Drag Night, where racers compete at the Orangeburg Drag Strip in Neeses, South Carolina, on July 9.

"We believe in helping our community, and after you go to one of these Summerville Miracle games, you'll understand why we love helping the cause so much," Mazell said.

Edmunds says:  A dealership shows its community spirit through summer fun with baseball, a Rabbit and a raffle.
