The dealership is collecting used instruments to help the North Charleston Pops bring the magic of music to students in Title One schools, many of which have lost their band programs to budget cuts.
Stokes Volkswagen is acting as one of the drop-off points for those who are willing to donate a used instrument.
"Even before those aired, people heard about our idea of collecting the instruments and they began dropping them off in our conference room," Westbury said. "Music is an important part of everyone's life."
While Westbury has seen an increase in traffic to the showroom for the promotion, he hasn't seen it materialize into sales yet.
"I know the results will come out of it because it's such an act of kindness that makes everyone feel good," he said.
