FLINT, Michigan — Randy Wise Automotive has gotten into the giving spirit. It is donating gifts to a needy child for each new or used car it sells in December at its five dealerships.
The dealership group has teamed up with the Old Newsboys of Flint, whose slogan is "Let No Child Be Forgotten," to reach needy families.
The money set aside from each car sold will buy a sweatsuit, hat and gloves, socks and underwear, dental hygiene products, an age appropriate toy or gift and smaller gifts, like coloring books.
"We hope to sell hundreds of cars to make as many children as we can happy this Christmas," Chris Wise, vice president of Randy Wise Automotive, told Edmunds.
The need is great, Wise said. Newsboys expects to brighten 6,000 children's lives this year.
The dealerships also have a Newsboys Sponsor-a-Child tree display in showrooms and in the service area where patrons can donate additional money for gift giving.
"This is the first time we've teamed up with the Newsboys," Wise said. "We know this promotion will spread some joy and make others feel good about giving back to their own community."
Edmunds says: Playing Santa Claus creates glad tidings of joy and perhaps some extra car sales, too.
