PARIS — The pint-sized Renault Twizy Cargo may be the smallest cargo hauler in the world — unless you count a shopping cart.

The electric Twizy Cargo is being pitched as the perfect delivery or emergency vehicle for congested European cities. It starts at the U.S. equivalent of $10,500.

The Twizy Cargo can carry a maximum load of 165 pounds and has a range of about 50 miles.

The one-seat urban commercial vehicle — Renault says it is technically a "quadricycle" — features a "watertight" trunk and a rear door that opens 90 degrees.

"The conversion was made possible by adapting the cut-out of the rear end and doing away with the passenger seat," said the automaker in a statement.

The Twizy Cargo 45 Life MA L6e features a 5-horsepower electric motor, while the Twizy Cargo Life MB L7e features a 17-hp electric motor.

The tiny hauler is capable of being parallel-parked sideways on crowded streets.

Edmunds says: An intriguing idea from the French if you're only hauling baguettes or bouquets.
