HAMMOND, Indiana — Northwest Indiana Chevrolet Dealers have found a way to put the spotlight on the new 2015 Chevrolet Trax SUV.
The dealer group is giving away a 2015 Trax small crossover valued at $25,000 in a sweepstakes it is hosting with the Times Media Co.
Participating Indiana dealers include Arnell Chevrolet in Burns Harbor, Christenson Chevrolet in Highland, Harbor Buick Chevrolet GMC in Michigan City, Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Merrillville, Smith Chevrolet in Hammond and Lowell, Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso and Wiers Chevrolet in DeMotte.
Entrants may fill out a form at the Times and bring it in to any participating Chevrolet dealership, Times office or by visiting nwi.com/trax and entering online.
"We've had some consumers come in to drop off their entry and they were excited to see exactly what a Trax is," said Samantha Roper, controller at Smith Chevrolet in Hammond, Indiana. "For many, it's their first look at it."
While the dealer group has hosted the annual giveaway since 2008, this marks the first time it's given away an SUV, Roper told Edmunds.
"Since it was one of Chevrolet's new products, we knew it would be a good fit," she said.
The sweepstakes runs through April 25, with the winner selected on April 30.
"People often can't believe we are giving away a free car," Roper said. "In the past, even when we call the winner, they take a while to call back because they don't think it's real, but it is."
Edmunds says: What better way for dealers to introduce Chevy's new 2015 Trax to consumers than to offer the lowest sticker price ever: free.
