NEWNAN, Georgia — Nissan of Newnan rolled out the red carpet for its customers when it opened its 39,000-square-foot dealership in June complete with a stadium-style movie theater.
Equipped with faux-leather chairs that recline, the theater seats nine and has its own complimentary concession stand, a 110-inch projection screen and a marquee, which tells customers which of its 300 movies are playing.
"Every guest loves it," Lane Crider, general manager of Nissan of Newnan, told Edmunds. "We've had some service customers say when their car is done, 'Give me 45 minutes more, so I can finish this movie.'"
His finance team often uses the theater as an informal meeting spot to gather facts about a customer's credit history.
"Finance is reporting that people are more relaxed in there, which means a happier customer," Crider said. "That is nice to hear."
Crider came up with the idea to include the theater when he considered how to add a fresh approach to the car-buying experience.
"I wanted to bring the fun factor back into the car-buying experience," he said.
Edmunds says: Car shoppers are the real stars of the show at this innovative dealership.
