NORTH HAVEN, Connecticut — The dance floor helped to move customers onto the showroom floor at Mercedes-Benz of North Haven, a Connecticut dealership.
General Sales Manager Adam Fox starred as a celebrity dancer recently during the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut's 7th Annual Dancing Under the Stars fundraiser.
As on the ABC reality show, Dancing With the Stars, Fox performed two dances with the help of a professional dance partner in front of judges and a live crowd, personally raising $9,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.
He trained for the event for nearly three months about seven hours a week, two hours of it with his professional partner, Fox told Edmunds.
"I knew it was a big time commitment," Fox said.
But his foxtrot and swing dances opened doors.
The Monday after the competition, a former celebrity dancer who watched his performance called him to tell him she had given her business to another Mercedes-Benz dealership in the past but will give it to his from now on, Fox said.
"She felt she had a connection with our dealership after watching me dance," he said.
While he didn't take the trophy home, Fox said his involvement let him help a worthy organization and got his dealership's name in front of many people.
"Days later I'm still getting a lot of calls and e-mails on it," he said.
