DETROIT — Manufacturer incentives are blooming nationwide in May, giving car shoppers the chance to take their pick of some attractive deals this month.
For example, Kia dealers are holding their Summer's On Us Sales Event, which offers no payments for five months with the first two months free, plus zero-percent financing for up to 66 months, on such 2016 models as the Optima, Optima Hybrid and Forte sedans and the Soul wagon.
Jaguar dealers want shoppers to Make One Yours Today, with special pricing, such as 1.9-percent financing for 60 months on a 2017 Jaguar XE sedan, 2016 Jaguar XF Premium sedan or a 2016 Jaguar XJ R-Sport sedan.
May is ripe for the Toyota Time Sales Event, with terms like financing as low as zero percent for 60 months on a 2016 RAV4 SUV or Prius hybrid, and 0.9 percent for 72 months on the 2016 Toyota Camry or Corolla sedans.
Nissan dealers invite shoppers to Meet Your Match with zero-percent financing for 60 months on such 2016 models as the Maxima and Altima sedans and the 2016 370Z sports coupe, and zero-percent financing for 72 months on the 2016 Leaf EV. There are also cash-back offers on select Nissan models like the 2015 Sentra sedan, 2015 Murano SUV and the 2016 Rogue SUV.
The Dodge Drive and Discover Sales Event features deals like zero-percent financing for 48 months, plus up to a $2,000 cash allowance, on a 2016 Dodge Charger SXT sedan and zero-percent financing for 36 months, plus up to a $750 cash allowance, on a 2016 Dodge Journey SUV.
BMW is running its Choice, Simplified promotion, with financing as low as 2.99 percent for up to 72 months on a variety of 2016 models, including the 3 Series sedans and Sports Wagons, 5 Series sedans and the X5 SUV. And EV shoppers can take advantage of 0.9-percent financing for up to 72 months on the 2016 BMW i3 with Range Extender.
Note that most of these deals are limited-time offers, some apply only to the oldest vehicles currently in stock, and some are available only to existing customers. Also, offers can vary according to geographic area, trim level of the vehicle, the customer's credit rating and specific lease or financing terms.
