Lincoln MKZ Tops List of Most Expensive Car Models To Repair


SAN FRANCISCO— The Lincoln MKZ sedan tops the list of the most expensive car models to repair, with an average repair cost of $2,649, according to a new study from the RepairPal Institute.

The Audi A4 sedan took 2nd place on the list, with an average repair cost of $2,259, followed by the Lexus IS 250 sedan, with an average cost of $2,234.

Two Volkswagen vehicles rounded out the top five. The Volkswagen Jetta compact sedan logged an average repair cost of $2,114, while the Volkswagen Passat midsize sedan tallied an average cost of $2,087.

On the flip side, the Nissan Sentra compact sedan led the list of the top most affordable car models to repair with an average cost of $931.

It was followed by the Nissan Altima midsize sedan at $986 and the Mazda CX-7 SUV with an average price of $988.

The Mazda 6 midsize sedan took fourth place on the affordable list with an average cost of $1,026, followed by the Ford Explorer SUV at $1,052.

The index measures the average cost of four common auto repairs. They are water pump, alternator, brake-pad replacement and oil change service. The results were drawn from a representative sample of U.S. Zip codes.
