Entrants are asked to film a one- to three-minute video by July 31 that shows their car and its Kia badge while discussing a favorite summer activity.
Participants are asked: "Why is your Kia perfect" and "What's the most interesting trip you've taken in your Kia?"
They are also asked about their car's gas mileage and other handy features.
They upload their videos to YouTube, e-mailing a link to Kia AutoSport judges, who will put their top 10 favorite videos on Facebook August 3-9. The video with the most likes wins $300, while the runner-up receives $150.
"We decided to hold this contest to get more Facebook likes," the dealership's General Manager Melanie Lee told Edmunds. "It's also a good way to build our video content of people saying what they like about Kia."
While Lee hopes it sells some Kias, she's certain it will start a buzz about the brand.
"It will engage people in a conversation about Kia," Lee said. "I think it will start those conversations through Facebook friends."
Edmunds says: A dealership turns to crowdsourcing to get people buzzing.
