Jaguar Land Rover Rolls Out InControl Apps With Tile Bluetooth Tracking Device

MAHWAH, New Jersey — Jaguar Land Rover wants to help customers eliminate the hassle of searching for lost items by rolling out a new Tile app integration into its InControl Apps.

The Tile app is available now for download and is compatible with Android and Apple platforms.

The number of items that can be tracked is limitless, the company said.

The app uses Tile tags, Bluetooth trackers that can be attached to important items. The user then can track them using smartphone technology.

"Once the app is initiated using the central touchscreen, customers are notified if specified items are not inside the vehicle and are even able to obtain on-screen directions to their last known location," Jaguar Land Rover said in a statement on Tuesday.

Jaguar Land Rover is the first automaker to integrate Tile with its in-car infotainment system.

Edmunds says: This convenience feature is designed to save time that may be wasted searching for your wallet or other tagged items and is bound to be a surprise-and-delight item for car shoppers.
