PEBBLE BEACH, California — The next-generation 2017 Infiniti Q60 luxury coupe is not due to arrive at Infiniti dealerships until next year, but prospective buyers can take a virtual test-drive of the Infiniti Q60 Concept starting August 13 at the Infiniti Pavilion at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The concept previews the replacement for the current Infiniti Q60, formerly known as the Infiniti G37 Coupe. The production version takes aim at the Audi A5, BMW 4 Series, Lexus RC 350 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe.
"The exhibit lets guests virtually experience the performance of the next-generation coupe on some of the world's most exhilarating drives, including Italy's Stelvio Pass and the stunning Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway," Infiniti said in a statement on Monday.
The custom simulator re-creates G-forces and tilt.
The automaker said guests visiting the Infiniti Pavilion will receive a complimentary special edition headset inspired by Google Cardboard so they can download the free Infiniti Driver's Seat VR mobile app and "relive the full experiences at home."
Edmunds says: Infiniti has a reputation for shaking up the status quo, so this will be a mandatory stop for Pebble Beach attendees. Others can wait and get behind the wheel for real at their local Infiniti dealership next year.
