LONGMONT, Colorado — Ehrlich i25 Kia is attempting to double its social-media presence on Facebook by hosting a "1,000 Likes Party."
When i25 Kia reaches 2,000 likes, it will hold a drawing and donate $2,000 to an approved charity in the winner's name.
The dealership's Facebook page currently has just over 1,200 "likes."
i25 Kia is also giving away five $25 Visa gift cards via random drawing each time 250 new people join the Facebook page, which will continue throughout the promotion. That adds up to 25 winners, a nod to the dealership's name and its location on I-25 near Denver.
The charities are the big winner, Rochelle Reynolds, online marketing director, told Edmunds.
To vote, participants visit the promotion's landing page located in the events section.
They select a Colorado charity, which includes Children's Hospital of Colorado, Boys & Girls Club of Colorado and Habitat for Humanity. Contestants may also suggest a charity of their choice, but it must be approved by the dealership.
After all information has been entered, participants are encouraged to help spread the word by sharing the promotion with their friends on Facebook.
"People seem to be getting engaged with the contest and they like that they are helping a charity that's right in their own community," Reynolds said.
Such a contest increases their Web traffic and they hope it continues on the showroom floor.
The winners will be announced on i25 Kia's Facebook page as soon as it hits 2,000 likes, which Reynolds expects in July.
Edmunds says: Everybody likes an excuse for a party, as this Kia dealership is discovering.
