"We're very happy Hyundai has been able to make this change, which will result in more great Santa Fe crossovers available to our dealers and customers," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, in a statement on Thursday. "The new production will help us meet the growing demand for one of our most popular products."
The 2016 Santa Fe Sport, which sits between a compact and a midsize crossover in size and price, is on sale now at Hyundai dealerships.
Production targets for the Sonata, Elantra and Santa Fe Sport will be announced later this year, Hyundai said.
Edmunds says: It should be easier for car shoppers to get their hands on the Santa Fe Sport this year, thanks to this boost in production.
