DEARBORN, Michigan — Henry Ford is the latest in a growing list of characters — including Snoopy and the Energizer Bunny — bound for Thanksgiving Day parades.

A 100-foot-long float with a giant likeness of the auto pioneer will be part of Detroit's Thanksgiving Day parade. Ford is dressed in striped overalls and surrounded by blueprints.

The float also features a Ford Focus and a birthday cake that marks the 150th anniversary of Ford's birth.

Six giant screens on the float highlight the contributions that Ford Motor Company Fund and Ford Volunteer Corps members make around the world.

Elena Ford, vice president for Ford global dealer and consumer experience and the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Ford, will ride on the float.

The Ford F-Series, Mustang and other Ford vehicles will take part in the festivities, since Ford is the "official parade vehicle."
