- To qualify, customers log on to Frema's Web site, submitting a name, phone number, e-mail and comment or question.
- If the customer paid for the car in full, Frema Motors sets the prize at $200.
The dealership's "Pay It Forward" online contest picks up the cost of a monthly car payment.
Of course, the phrase "Pay It Forward" became familiar to people courtesy of the 2000 movie of the same name starring Kevin Spacey. "Pay It Forward" means responding to a kindness by being kind to someone else.
To qualify for the contest, customers log on to Frema's Web site, submitting a name, phone number, e-mail and comment or question. Winners are randomly selected every month.
If the customer paid for the car outright, he or she may still enter, but the prize is set at $200.
"People think it's too good to be true because there are only a few boxes to fill out online, but there really is no catch," Ashley Woodard, Frema Motors' Internet manager, told Edmunds.
They've had the contest for about three years.
Woodard says many customers reapply every month, which is allowed until they win.
"The winners are so excited when they are selected," she said, but the dealership believes it's the true winner.
Woodard added: "This is something we do to be different."
Edmunds says: By consistently giving a little, one dealership finds it gets a lot.
