Face-lifted 2016 Volkswagen Passat Bound for Dealerships This Fall

HERNDON, Virginia — The midsize-sedan market is about to get a little added spice with the addition of a face-lifted 2016 Volkswagen Passat.

Volkswagen of America said the 2016 Passat will arrive at Volkswagen dealerships this fall. Pricing has not been announced yet.

The update will include new sheet metal, wheels, headlights and taillights, along with a more premium interior with a revised instrument panel.

The Passat will also get "a full suite of infotainment and driver-assistance features," VW said.

Technical specifications were not disclosed.

The Passat competes in a crowded segment that includes the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Kia Optima and Mazda 6.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should be aware that a revised Passat is headed for showrooms in short order.
