Edmunds Named Best Workplace in Technology by Great Place to Work and Fortune

Edmunds took the No. 1 spot on Fortune's list of the Best Workplaces in Technology among small and medium-size businesses.

The Best Workplaces in Technology rankings, by Fortune in conjunction with Great Place to Work, are based on feedback from more than 42,000 employees in the tech industry on their company's culture, management, opportunities for advancement and other traits.

Edmunds outranked companies such as fundraising giant GoFundMe (No. 2) and Atlassian (No. 7).

"Edmunds takes a great deal of pride in our creative and talented team members, and I couldn't be more proud of the fact that they've ranked us as the best technology workplace in the U.S.," said Edmunds CEO Avi Steinlauf. "At Edmunds, we believe nurturing our exceptional culture is critical to our continued success. With perks like our Results Only Work Environment, award-winning headquarters, Trip Ca$h, extended parental leave policy and more, we work to demonstrate to our employees every day how much their hard work is valued and appreciated."

The Top 15 list of the winners among small and medium-size businesses, which have fewer than 1,000 employees, is here.

For the Best Workplaces in Technology rankings, employees completed an anonymous survey on the transparency of communication, degree of collaboration, quality of benefits, opportunity for professional development and support for work-life balance, among other characteristics.

Employees at the winning businesses reported innovative workplace characteristics — such as open-minded managers responsive to employees' ideas, minimal office politics and consistent cooperation — more frequently than their peers at non-ranked companies. The Best Workplaces in Technology also outperformed in measures of community involvement, training and compensation.

Kim Peters, executive vice president at Great Place to Work, said, "Staying competitive and delivering innovation to the market requires fresh perspectives from the workforce. The Best Workplaces in Technology have positioned themselves for ongoing success by creating a supportive, cooperative atmosphere that lets employees solve problems using the full range of their talents and ideas."
