DETROIT — As summer winds to a close and dealerships try to clear out inventories to make room for next year's models, car shoppers will find some attractive bargains from now through the Labor Day weekend.

GMC is also holding a Summer Sell Down, with savings that include a 20-percent cash-back offer on select models of the 2015 Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab pickup that have been in stock the longest.

Ford's Free Ride Sales Event offers zero-percent financing for 72 months on Ford vehicles, plus a $1,000 cash bonus on all cars and SUVs, including the 2015 Explorer SUV, 2015 Focus sedan, 2015 F-150 pickup, and the 2015 Mustang.

At the Honda Summer Clearance Event, consumers will find 0.9-percent financing available for up to 60 months on models like the 2015 Civic sedan, 2015 Civic Hybrid, 2015 Accord sedan and 2015 Odyssey minivan.

Kia is advertising Sizzling Summer Deals with zero-percent financing for up to 66 months and up to $1,500 cash back on vehicles that include the 2015 Optima and Forte sedans, the 2015 Sorento SUV and 2015 Soul subcompact.

With its Summer Drive Event, Mazda is offering to make the first two payments on any new 2015 Mazda vehicle financed or leased through Mazda Capital Services. The deal applies to models like the 2015 Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 sedans, 2015 MX-5 Miata convertible, 2015 CX-5 SUV and 2015 Mazda 5 minivan.

The Toyota Annual Clearance Event provides $1,000 cash back and zero-percent financing for 60 months on such models as the 2015 Avalon and Camry sedans and the 2015 Avalon, Camry and Prius hybrids. There's also a zero-percent financing deal available for 60 months on the 2015 Corolla sedan, 2015 Sienna minivan and the 2015 Tundra pickup.

Many outstanding lease terms are available at this time of year, as well. Check the $199 Lease Deals for August 2015 for more information.

Note that offers may vary by region, apply only to qualified customers and require buyers to select from vehicles currently in stock. Many advertised finance plans require a down payment, and most offers end by the day after Labor Day, September 8, 2015.

Edmunds says: There are bargains to be found at this time of year, but inventories will dwindle quickly, so buyers looking for the best selection should visit their dealer soon.
