Dealers To Take Orders in July for 2016 Dodge Viper With Matte-Paint Option

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan Dodge dealers will open their order books in July for buyers of the 2016 Dodge Viper coupe who want the new matte-finish paint option.

The new exterior paint is available on all of Viper "1 of 1" program's 8,000 exterior color options and 24,000 stripe options.

In addition to the matte-finish exterior paint, Viper buyers can choose between satin chrome or satin black badging and fuel-filler door for a "sinister appearance."

"We're continuing at the forefront of the matte-paint trend by offering so many variations, colors and even a metallic finish," said Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of Dodge and SRT brands, in a statement on Friday.

Dodge said the new matte exterior paint options will be available to view on the GTC vehicle customizer beginning in the third quarter.

Customized Vipers are badged as a Viper GTC.

The matte paint is also available on the 2016 Viper ACR.

Pricing has not been announced.

Key competitors to the Viper include the Audi R8, Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911.

Edmunds says: The matte-finish exterior paint is a great way to set your Viper apart from the pack.
