DUBIN, Ohio/CHATTANOGA, TennesseeCrown Automotive Group is teaming up this month with Feeding Children Everywhere to assemble more than 50,000 meals for needy children in the Columbus, Ohio, area.

On December 7, the dealership will open its doors not just to sell cars, but to assemble meals for children. The auto group employees will be on hand, and the community is invited to help support the cause.

Crown Automotive is also collecting monetary donations on behalf of Feeding Children Everywhere, encouraging customers to donate while visiting the dealership for service. Those who'd rather donate time are invited to come work one of the two 90-minute shifts being offered that Saturday morning.

In addition, the dealer group is making a donation on each buyer's behalf for every new vehicle sold.

The partnership with Feeding Children Everywhere isn't limited to the Ohio area. Crown Automotive also operates stores in Florida and Tennessee, and on Saturday, December 14, Crown will be partnering with Feeding Children Everywhere at its Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram store in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

"One in four children in our area is at risk of going hungry today. Crown will do everything we can to help alleviate this terrible problem. Feeding Children Everywhere is an outstanding organization with a goal that everybody can stand behind: feeding hungry children," Crown Automotive of Chattanooga General Manager T.C. Stanton told

As with the Dublin dealer, the goal is to assemble 50,000 meals for children in the Chattanooga area. Donations of time or money to the cause are also encouraged.

Hundreds of volunteers are expected to attend both the Ohio and Tennessee events.

The nutritionally balanced packaged meals will be given to the school children right before Christmas.

Crown Automotive Group isn't new to helping its community, nor does it wait for the holidays to show its civic pride.

The dealership recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build two homes in the St. Petersburg, Florida, area. Habitat for Humanity is building five homes in this new community, and Crown Automotive is sponsoring two of them. The construction began in October and is expected to be complete by the end of December.

Edmunds says: Charitable works during the holiday season are sure to benefit all those involved.
