Participants click a link and fill out their name and e-mail. To win, the dealership's social-media management company draws a name at random, notifying them by e-mail that they have won.
In the giveaway's first quarter, more than 200 people entered.
The gift card is good any place that takes Visa.
"We've actually had some trouble getting people to respond to the e-mail saying they won," Jeffrey Dopp, Internet director at Crown Ford, told Edmunds. "Maybe they forget they entered."
Dopp is unsure how many quarters the giveaway will last.
But he is happy with the results so far.
"It's a great way to identify interested car buyers," Dopp said.
Edmunds says: This dealership goes fishing for customers with some generous bait.
