SAN JOSE, California — Capitol Hyundai in San Jose, California has joined an elite group of California Hyundai fuel-cell dealerships that offer the 2016 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell hydrogen-electric SUV.
"Capitol Hyundai adds a convenient location in the San Francisco Bay Area to better serve our newest fuel cell customers in Northern California," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, in a statement on Friday.
To become a qualified Hyundai Fuel Cell dealer, approved dealers must fulfill certain requirements in customer and technical services.
Car shoppers in California can drive the 2016 Tucson Fuel Cell for $499 a month for a 36-month term, with a $2,999 down payment.
Hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles are being introduced gradually into the U.S. market. The hydrogen infrastructure is in its infancy here.
There are 23 public hydrogen stations in the U.S., mainly in California, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Edmunds says: There are now five qualified hydrogen fuel-cell Hyundai dealers in California, which is great news for car shoppers who want one of the latest green vehicles.
