DETROIT Cadillac shoppers who test-drive a car can earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles, GM said on Monday.

Members can earn 7,500 AAdvantage miles when they call a service desk and register a time to test-drive a Cadillac at a nearby dealership.

The program kicks off later this month at U.S. Cadillac dealerships. GM said more information about the new program will be available soon.

"The American Airlines-Cadillac partnership will evolve with new reward opportunities and experiences following this initial phase," GM said.

Cadillac is also launching a luxury airport transfer program at Los Angeles International Airport this month.

This program identifies ConciergeKey members with tight transfer times and escorts them to their next gate of departure in a Cadillac CTS, SRX or Escalade.

American Airlines plans to roll out this program to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, New York's LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport by the end of the year.

Edmunds says: High fliers should love this new affinity-marketing program between Cadillac and American Airlines.
