WOODCLIFF LAKE, New Jersey BMW's U.S. dealers will launch a new "tech drive" program linked to the BMW Innovations marketing campaign that highlights how BMW vehicles share key technology features with the 2014 BMW i8.

Participants in the dealership "tech drive" program will "experience the cutting-edge innovations in BMW vehicles first-hand," the automaker said on Wednesday.

The BMW Innovations national TV advertising campaign kicks off on September 1.

"Following in the lead of the BMW i8, which epitomizes innovation, we are elevating the technology across our entire range of BMW models, as highlighted in this national campaign," said Trudy Hardy, BMW of North America vice president of marketing, in a statement.

The campaign notes that the BMW i8's full-color head-up display is also available in the BMW 3 Series. The BMW i8's LED headlight technology is shared with the BMW 5 Series. And the BMW i8's Surround Camera System is also featured in the BMW X3.
