CHICAGO — Bill Kay Buick GMC has Chicago car buyers dreaming of a white Christmas.
The dealership is hosting its first-ever White Friday Sale, November 28-29, that promises an unusual refund to anyone who buys a new Buick or GMC on those two days. If it snows at O'Hare International Airport 6 inches or more on Christmas, the dealership will refund the money and the car will be free.
The sale tips its hat to Black Friday, the biggest retail-shopping day of the year.
"We hope it snows," said Noel Rivera, Internet director at Bill Kay Auto Group. "We hope we can give away free cars for Christmas."
The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting "snow showers" for the Windy City from December 20-26.
Rivera told Edmunds that those who don't purchase a car may enter to win a $250 drawing online.
"We know a lot of people are going to be shopping for a car and we hope this White Friday Sale gives them reason to buy a Buick or GMC from us," Rivera said. "They might get it for free."
Edmunds says: It snowed in Chicago on Halloween, so a white Christmas is entirely possible and would certainly make many car buyers merry and bright.
