AAA Named Auto Insurance Brand of the Year by Harris Poll

ORLANDO, Florida AAA has been named Auto Insurance Brand of the Year by the 2016 Harris Poll EquiTrend study.

Now in its 28th year, the EquiTrend study identifies the strongest brands in nearly 100 categories across a number of industries — media, travel, financial, automotive, entertainment, retail, restaurants and household — based on consumer responses to an extensive survey.

To gather its data this year, Harris Poll surveyed more than 97,000 U.S. consumers about 3,800 brands in 500 categories and then based its rankings on three factors: familiarity, quality and purchase consideration.

This "brand equity," according to Harris Poll, is the gateway to an eventual purchase, as well as an indication of the brand's overall health.

"To be recognized as the highest-ranked auto insurance brand in the nation is a great honor for AAA," said Marshall L. Doney, AAA president and CEO, in a statement. "AAA Insurance provides value to members with great customer service and peace of mind at home, on the highway or when preparing for the future."

Following AAA, in order of rank, among auto insurance providers in the study are State Farm, USAA, American Family Auto Insurance, Nationwide and Farmers.
