How Much Is a Rivian? Here's What the R2, R1S and R1T Cost

Rivian has carved out a distinctive place in the EV market with vehicles that combine a premium feel, distinctive design and impressive performance with a sense of adventure. Its current lineup includes the R1T pickup and R1S SUV, which serve as the brand's flagship models, while the recently introduced R2 expands Rivian's reach into a smaller, more affordable segment.

With multiple models, powertrains and trims to choose from, understanding Rivian's pricing is an important first step for shoppers considering one of the automaker's vehicles. In this guide, we'll break down the starting prices for each Rivian model to provide a clearer picture of where each vehicle fits in the brand's lineup. All prices listed include destination charges.

2027 Rivian R2

The R2 is Rivian's new electric SUV, designed to bring the brand's distinctive mix of performance, technology and adventure-minded design to a broader audience. Smaller and less expensive than the R1S, the R2 lands in a highly competitive part of the EV market, where it goes up against vehicles such as the Tesla Model Y and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

For Rivian, the R2 is more than just a new model. It represents an important step toward expanding beyond the relatively expensive R1T and R1S models and reaching a larger pool of EV buyers. Rivian is also planning to scale R2 production at a new Georgia factory, underscoring the model's importance to the company's growth. The automaker currently offers the R2 in three different trims: Standard, Premium and Performance. The Performance model is available now, the Premium model arrives in late 2026, and the Standard model is coming next spring.

Standard will serve as the base trim. Rivian estimates that it will provide 275 miles of range in its default rear-wheel-drive configuration. This single-motor layout will produce 350 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque. The automaker says that's enough grunt to get the R2 to 60 mph from rest in 5.9 seconds. Power-adjustable heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come standard, as does a 15.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display and 19-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires. The RWD long-range drivetrain configuration is said to provide up to 345 miles of range, while the all-wheel-drive version raises power levels to 450 hp and 537 lb-ft. The added power drops the R2 Standard's 0-60 mph time to a Rivian-estimated 4.6 seconds while raising its towing capacity from 3,500 pounds to 4,400 pounds, but range is reduced to an estimated 330 miles.

Stepping up to the R2 Premium gets you the 450-hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration by default, and Rivian estimates that this version will also deliver 330 miles of range. Upgraded cabin materials, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, premium audio, 20-inch wheels and Matrix LED headlights are all included as standard equipment for this trim.

The Performance is currently the top trim for the R2. This dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup churns up 656 horsepower and 609 lb-ft of torque, and Rivian says that should get this model to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds. A semi-active suspension system, yellow brake calipers, and 21-inch wheels come as part of the deal, along with all the standard equipment in the Premium model. The Performance model also currently includes the limited-run Launch Package, which consists of a unique key fob, the R2's typically optional Tow package and Autonomy+ hands-free driving tech, and the option to select the package-exclusive Launch Green paint hue.

2026 Rivian R1S

The R1S is Rivian's three-row electric SUV and one of the two vehicles that established the brand's presence in the premium EV market. With seating for up to seven, a spacious interior and strong performance, the R1S competes with electric SUVs such as the Tesla Model X, BMW iX and Lucid Gravity while offering a distinctly Rivian take on the segment.

The R1S received a major update for the 2025 model year as part of Rivian's R1 lineup refresh, an effort that ushered in revised batteries, updated infotainment and driver assistance technology, and new powertrain options. The R1S is currently offered in Premium, Performance and Quad trims, all of which feature all-wheel drive and are rated to tow up to 7,700 pounds.

The R1S Premium is offered in standard and long-range configurations, with the former offering 533 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 329 miles of range, while the latter boosts output to 665 hp, extends the range to an estimated 410 miles, and lowers the R1S Premium's 0-60 mph time from a Rivian-estimated 4.5 seconds to 3.4 seconds. A 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, 22-inch wheels and wood interior accents are standard either way, as are 60-day trials of the Autonomy+ hands-free driving system and Connect+, Rivian's connectivity tech suite.

The R1S Performance brings a third motor into the mix for a total system output of 850 horsepower and 1,103 lb-ft of torque. Rivian says that this setup will get the R1S from 0 to 60 mph in a sports car-like 2.9 seconds while delivering an EPA-estimated 371 miles of range. The cabin features wood accents and a soft-touch sueded headliner as well as a premium audio system and an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof, while the exterior is outfitted with dark accents and yellow brake calipers.

Sitting at the top of the R1S totem pole is the Quad. As the name implies, this trim features four motors that deliver 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque in total. That monstrous output gets the R1S Quad from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.6 seconds while delivering an EPA-estimated 338 miles of range on the standard 22-inch wheels. The R1S Quad also boasts 11 drive modes and features such as RAD Tuner, which lets drivers fine-tune performance settings like torque distribution and suspension stiffness. Laguna Beach Blue brake calipers and exterior accents also help to visually differentiate the Quad from other R1S models.

2026 Rivian R1T

The R1T is Rivian's electric pickup truck and the sibling to the R1S SUV. The two share much of their underlying hardware and technology, but the R1T trades the R1S' three-row cabin for a five-seat interior and a pickup bed, along with Rivian’s distinctive gear tunnel for additional storage. It competes with electric pickups including the Tesla Cybertruck, Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, though the R1T is smaller than those full-size rivals.

Like the R1S, the R1T also received a substantial overhaul for the 2025 model year, including revised batteries, a new electrical architecture, updated chassis components and new powertrain options. The R1T gained a North American Charging Standard port and an available hands-free driver assistance system as well. Like the R1S, the R1T is currently offered in Premium, Performance and Quad trims. All 2026 R1T models feature all-wheel drive and are rated to tow up to 11,000 pounds.

The dual-motor Premium version produces 533 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque. Rivian says this configuration is good for a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds, while the EPA estimates it'll do 329 miles on a charge. Springing for the long-range version of the R1T Premium bumps power levels to 665 hp and 829 lb-ft, which brings the truck's 0-60 mph time down to a Rivian-estimated 3.4 seconds while delivering an EPA-estimated 420 miles of range. The 20-inch wheels, a power-operated tonneau cover, wood interior accents and 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display are all included as standard.

Like the R1S Performance, the R1T Performance uses a tri-motor setup that produces 850 horsepower and 1,103 lb-ft of torque, allowing the truck to reach 60 mph in an estimated 2.9 seconds. The EPA estimates up to 371 miles of range on a charge on 22-inch wheels. Performance models also get a premium audio system, wood trim, a soft-touch sueded headliner and an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof, while dark exterior accents and yellow brake calipers give the truck a sportier look. Buyers can also choose between 20-inch and 22-inch wheel and tire setups.

The Quad sits at the top of the R1T lineup with four motors that produce a combined 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque. Rivian estimates a 0-60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds, while the EPA estimates you'll get between 325 miles and 374 miles of range, depending on which of the three available wheel and tire packages you choose. The R1T Quad also offers 11 drive modes, along with features like Launch mode, Kick Turn and the RAD Tuner. Laguna Beach Blue brake calipers and matching exterior accents provide a visual cue that this is the range-topping R1T.
