- What's new: The first redesigned Silverado since 2019 goes on sale before the end of 2026.
- Why it matters: A new, hopefully more reliable V8 can be had in pricier variants, and the whole lineup gets major interior improvements.
- Edmunds says: There's more truck here, but some trim levels cost over $5,000 more than last year's model.
2027 Chevy Silverado Pricing: Here's How Much the Base WT, Z71, High Country and ZR2 Trucks Cost
The new truck starts a little over $40,000
Chevrolet just introduced a new generation of the Silverado 1500, almost eight years after the current generation debuted for the 2019 model year. We've already gotten a first look at the new truck — the new engines and major interior improvements could turn a truck we currently have ranked behind the F-150, Ram, Toyota Tundra and GMC Sierra into a proper competitor.
But it will also be more expensive than the current Silverado when it launches in late 2026, and in one case, by almost $9,000. Here's the price for every new Silverado.
Silverado WT and Silverado Custom
The base, entry-level 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 WT will start at $41,395, including a $2,795 desitnation charge that's consistent across the lineup. This'll be one of the bigger jumps, as it will cost $5,800 more than the current base truck.
What do you get for the extra cash? A tweaked 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four will make a little more power (you can pay extra for Chevy's updated 5.7-liter V8 or a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6), and inside, a digital instrument cluster screen and a big touchscreen infotainment system will come standard. The infotainment will incorporate the Google tech we saw appear in higher-end versions of the current-generation truck, including native Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Google Play Store, which gives access to apps like Waze and Spotify. You also get a bunch of driver assist features like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance that were not previously standard.
Those are major improvements, but a $5,800 price increase is no joke.
The Silverado Custom will start at $46,395, $1,200 more than its 2026 equivalent. Beyond what's included with the WT, you get 20-inch wheels and a handful of convenience features like a power driver's seat, an outlet in the bed, and a tailgate that's easier to lift and lower.
Silverado Z71 and Trail Bosses
For 2027, the Silverado Z71 will start at $50,695. This will be a new stand-alone trim level, whereas the current truck offers the Z71 package on some trims. Think of the Z71 as an affordable entry point to off-roading and smarter tech features.
The Z71 will add some nice-to-haves, including foglights, ambient interior lighting, a power rear window, and storage under the rear seats, but the important bits relate to off-roading and option packages. This will be the cheapest way to get hill descent control and basic underbody skid plates, which, combined with all-terrain tires, will make the upcoming Silverado Z71 plenty ready for light trail work.
This trim level will also open the door to a few key option packages. The Z71 will be the cheapest way to access optional Super Cruise hands-free driving, as well as synthetic leather seats and the max towing package.
The one-step-up Custom Trail Boss ($57,195) and Trail Boss ($63,995) will both come in at $1,500 more than the trucks they replace. The Custom Trail Boss will get everything Z71 had, plus bonus off-road hardware: low-range gearing for better torque delivery at low speeds, off-road drive modes, a limited-slip rear differential for improved traction, a 2-inch suspension lift to keep you from scraping as much on the trail, extra skid plates, and an off-road app in the touchscreen. You won't get the Super Cruise, leather seats or max tow pack that will be available in the Z71.
For the Trail Boss, Chevy will combine the off-road hardware of the Custom Trail Boss with luxury and convenience features. I'm talking basic Bose audio, a camera for the hitch — that kind of stuff.
Silverado High Country
The 2027 Silverado High Country will have the biggest price jump over the 2026 truck. At $74,495, it will start at $8,700 more than the 2026 High Country. Part of why it's more expensive is that Chevy made a bunch of popular options standard. The most impactful addition will likely be a more sophisticated set of dampers that should help with ride composure on the road. A panoramic sunroof and Super Cruise will now be included, plus you get 22-inch wheels.
The High Country will include a bunch of new tech, too. Chevy's full-size pickup will get a new standard touchscreen integrated into the dashboard ahead of the passenger, as well as a head-up display that projects information onto the windshield in front of the driver. An option package will add genuine luxury features, including massaging seats and power running boards to make it easier to get up into a big truck.
Shelling out almost $75K for a High Country will also get Chevrolet's updated 402-horsepower 5.7-liter V8 (replacing the 5.3-liter) at no extra cost, and it'll be the cheapest way to get the new top-dog engine, a 481-horsepower 6.6-liter V8 that replaces the old 6.2-liter engine.
Silverado ZR2
The 2026 Silverado ZR2, the most hardcore off-roader of the family, will be priced at $79,995. That's $5,400 more than the 2026 ZR2.
Like the High Country, it'll include some of the current-gen truck's more popular options as standard, including Super Cruise and a larger fuel tank. The ZR2 comes standard with Chevy's Duramax diesel V6, but you'll have the option to get the 6.6-liter gas V8. Additions for 2027 include the passenger screen and a Baja drive mode for high-speed fun. Also, it's probably the best-looking version of the new Silverado.
2027 Chevy Silverado: More expensive, but worth it?
The 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 will be more expensive across the board, but the extra content you'll get looks like a meaningful step up. Will it be enough to get the Chevy out of last place in our full-size truck rankings? We'll let you know when we get hands-on and drive it in the next few months.
