Slotting in between the 340-horsepower Macan S and 400-hp Macan Turbo, the GTS variant is powered by the same 3.0-liter V6 engine as the S, modified and recalibrated to develop 360 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque.
It makes use of the all-wheel-drive powertrain from the Turbo, with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and traction-management system that Porsche says help give the Macan GTS a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds when outfitted with the optional Sport Chrono Package.
Air suspension with active management is standard, as are performance brakes with larger rotors and red calipers, six-piston in front and single-piston in the rear. Also standard are 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels finished in satin black.
The GTS interior features a standard leather package and unique sport seats, while the Porsche Communication Management system provides eight-speaker sound, USB ports, satellite radio and Bluetooth capability.
Options include an interior package with an upgraded tachometer, special stitching and embroidered GTS logos on the headrests, as well as a navigation module that features a 3D display, satellite image overlays and dynamic route calculation.
Edmunds says: Performance-minded shoppers in the market for a luxury crossover will want to check out the new 2017 Porsche Macan GTS.
