2017 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition Models Bound for Dealerships Later This Year


ATLANTA — The new 2017 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition SUVs will arrive at U.S. Porsche dealerships later this year for a limited time, Porsche Cars North America said on Wednesday.

The two are designed to add some sporty flair to the Cayenne lineup, according to the automaker.

The 2017 Cayenne Platinum Edition starts at $66,650, including a $1,050 destination charge.

The 2017 Cayenne S E-Hybrid is priced at $82,650, including shipping.

In comparison, the base 2016 Cayenne, which is on sale now, starts at $60,650, including shipping.

These high-end 2017 Cayenne models target the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Infiniti QX70 and Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

Details on the Cayenne Platinum Editions include black exterior trim, 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels in wider wheel arches and an upgraded cabin that features leather eight-way sport seats with Alcantara center panels, Porsche crests on the headrests and stainless-steel door sills with illuminated "Platinum Edition" lettering.

Standard equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System, Power Steering Plus and rear park assist.

Solid black and white exterior paint is standard; Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White and Rhodium Silver metallic paints are optional.

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid is equipped with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine and electric motor that produce 416 horsepower. The base Cayenne Platinum Edition is equipped with a 300-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine.
