NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The 2017 Nissan Maxima full-size sedan is on sale now at Nissan dealerships with a starting price of $33,395.

The pricing includes an $835 destination charge and reflects a $50 increase over the base 2016 Maxima.

The midrange 2017 Maxima SL starts at $37,875, for a $50 price increase over the 2016 Maxima SL.

The top-of-the-line 2017 Maxima Platinum is priced at $40,825, reflecting a $30 price increase over the previous model.

Prices include the shipping charge.

This is a carryover model with modest enhancements for the new model year. They include the addition of standard Apple CarPlay connectivity and two new optional packages.

The new $1,345 Medallion package for the Platinum model includes a premium spoiler, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, illuminated kick plates, interior accent lighting and exterior ground lighting.

The new $990 Dynamic package for the SV model includes a premium spoiler, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, illuminated kick plate and side rocker molding.

The $1,195 Midnight Edition on the SR model features a sport spoiler, rear diffuser and 19-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels with center caps.

All Maxima models are equipped with a 300-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and a continuously variable transmission.

Key competitors to the Maxima include the Buick LaCrosse, Volkswagen CC and Volvo S60.
