2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Teased Again: 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show

ATLANTA — Luxury buyers got another look at the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet, which is bound for Mercedes-Benz dealerships in mid-2016, following a formal debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The German automaker teased the high-end convertible that competes with the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante and Bentley Continental GT Speed convertibles in a Twitter posting on Monday night.

"After 44 years, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is back," said the accompanying text.

The new S-Class Cabriolet is the sixth model of the S-Class family and is the first luxury four-seater cabriolet for Mercedes-Benz since 1971.

The latest photo shows the S-Class Cabriolet with a red leather interior. A previous teaser photo released in conjunction with the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance showed the car with a white interior.

The convertible version will be offered as a 4Matic S550 and AMG S63, along with a rear-wheel-drive S65.

Pricing and technical specifications have not been announced.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe starts at $121,550, including a $925 destination charge.

Edmunds says: Mercedes-Benz continues to whet the appetite of car shoppers for the highly anticipated 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet.
