2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 Sedan Priced at $53,075

ATLANTA— The all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan will start at $53,075, including a $925 destination charge, when it arrives at Mercedes-Benz dealerships this summer, the automaker said on Tuesday.

The base price is for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 midsize sedan with rear-wheel drive.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 4Matic sedan with all-wheel drive starts at $55,575, including shipping.

In comparison, the base 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350 starts at $54,025, including shipping.

Pricing will be announced later for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E400 wagon, an all-wheel-drive alternative to crossovers and SUVs.

The E300 will be the only model available at launch. It features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard.

Safety technology and luxury features are the key highlights of the 2017 E-Class. New safety options include Evasive Steering Assist, Active Brake Assist and Pre-Safe Impulse Side that uses air chambers in the front-seat side bolsters to shift occupants away from the doors when an imminent side impact is detected.

Key competitors to the E-Class include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Lexus GS 350.

Edmunds says: The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 debuts with an attractive price tag that should be an incentive for luxury shoppers to visit their local dealership.
