SEOUL, South Korea — The 2017 Kia Sportage is prepared to target such major players as the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V, according to a preview of the SUV ahead of its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.
Kia showed off three sketches of the redesigned Sportage, which features a new nose, repositioned headlights and a higher beltline.
"Entering its fourth generation, the all-new Sportage features a bold, progressive design, which exudes power and agility from every angle," Kia said in a statement.
Kia promised the new Sportage will feature its "highest-quality cabin to date."
U.S. launch timing and pricing were not announced.
The formal unveiling of the 2017 Sportage is set for September 15.
