IRVINE, California — The 2017 Kia Sorento SUV is on the way to Kia dealerships, priced at $26,295.

The price includes an $895 destination charge and reflects a $300 increase over the 2016 Sorento.

The top-of-the-line 2017 Sorento SXL V6 with all-wheel drive is priced at $46,595, including shipping.

This is a carryover model with a few upgrades for the 2017 model year. They include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

The 2017 Sorento also features an Advanced Touring package and Advanced Technology package. The packages include a long list of driver-assistance features, including autonomous emergency braking and forward-collision warning.

Buyers get a choice of three engines: a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder; a 240-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder; and a 290-hp 3.3-liter V6.

A six-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup.

Key Sorento rivals include the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Edge and Honda Pilot.

Edmunds says: The Kia Sorento competes in a hot SUV segment and enters the new model year with a modest price increase and some important tech upgrades.
