2017 Kia Forte Priced at $17,340

IRVINE, California — The refreshed 2017 Kia Forte compact sedan will arrive at Kia dealerships  by late summer with a starting price of $17,340, including an $850 destination charge.

The price reflects a $500 increase over the base 2016 Forte sedan.

A new sporty 2017 Kia Forte S is priced at $20,050, while the top-of-the-line 2017 Forte EX starts at $22,050. Prices include shipping.

A fresh exterior look with a new bumper, "tiger nose" grille and new taillights are designed to give the 2017 Forte a more sophisticated look, according to Kia.

A $4,490 Premium Plus package adds new driver-assistance systems, including autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert and forward collision warning.

A new 147-horsepower 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine is standard. The engine is linked to a six-speed manual transmission; a six-speed automatic transmission is optional.

Key Forte sedan competitors include the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla.

Edmunds says: A host of upgrades along with a minor price increase should make the 2017 Forte sedan a top choice for car shoppers.
