2017 Kia Cadenza Previewed, Bound for Dealerships Next Year

SEOUL, South Korea — The redesigned 2017 Kia Cadenza premium sedan will feature a sharper, more angular look than the current model, according to preview images released on Thursday by Kia.

Kia said the 2017 Cadenza, which competes against the Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala and Nissan Maxima, will go in sale in overseas markets in 2016.

U.S. launch timing, technical specifications and pricing were not announced.

The 2017 Cadenza will introduce "higher levels of luxury and refinement to the large sedan segment," Kia said in a statement.

A wider and lower stance is part of the redesign.

The cabin will get a new look with higher-quality materials.

The carryover 2016 Cadenza is on sale now at Kia dealerships. A navigation system is now standard on all trim levels.

The 2016 Cadenza starts at $33,815, including an $825 destination charge. The top-of-the-line Cadenza SX Limited is priced at $44,915, including shipping.

Edmunds says: An interesting battle is shaping up between the redesigned 2017 Buick LaCrosse and the 2017 Kia Cadenza, giving premium shoppers some compelling new choices.
