2017 Honda Accord Hybrid on Sale Now, Priced at $30,440

TORRANCE, California — The updated 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid midsize sedan is on sale now at Honda dealerships, starting at $30,440, including an $835 destination charge.

The Accord Hybrid is offered in three trim levels: Hybrid, Hybrid EX-L and Hybrid Touring.

The Hybrid EX-L is priced at $33,740, including shipping.

The top-of-the-line Hybrid Touring starts at $36,790, including shipping.

In comparison, the base 2015 Accord Hybrid started at $30,125, including an $820 destination charge. The Accord Hybrid was not offered for the 2016 model year.

Honda's refreshed Accord Hybrid takes aim at the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, Ford Fusion Hybrid, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Toyota Camry Hybrid.

Powertrain details include a new two-motor hybrid system and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for 212 total horsepower. Fuel economy is pegged at 49 mpg in city driving, 47 mpg on the highway and 48 mpg combined.

New standard features include a wide-angle rearview camera, remote engine start and Honda Sensing, a suite of safety and driver-assist technologies.

Options include remote engine start, front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, heated rear seats and auto high-beam headlights.

Unique exterior cues include blue accent headlights and taillights and a special aluminum hood.

EX-L and Touring models add Honda's new Display Audio touchscreen interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Accord Hybrid debuts at a time when 2016 gas prices are at their highest level, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline on Thursday is pegged at $2.35.

Edmunds says: The 2017 Accord Hybrid should hit the sweet spot for many car shoppers with a price tag just above $30,000 and gas prices creeping up again.
