2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty Ups the Ante in Cupholder Competition

DEARBORN, Michigan — The all-new 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck features a new patented two-into-four cupholder design that's located between the truck's front seats.

A combination cupholder and storage bin with an upper panel that slides from left to right transforms the storage bin into two additional cupholders.

The new design brings the total number of cupholders on the truck to 10.

Ford's 2017 Super Duty arrives at dealerships this fall.

The competition for cool cabin features is heating up, especially in family-friendly vehicles.

The refreshed 2017 Nissan Pathfinder midsize SUV has cupholders that have been reshaped to accommodate mug handles. The Pathfinder is bound for Nissan dealerships in September.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan has storage for an umbrella and two bins in the rear cargo area that can each hold a gallon of milk. It is on sale now at Chrysler dealerships.

The all-new 2017 GMC Acadia full-size SUV helps to keep things tidy in the cabin with a center console that includes a unique pull-out storage drawer for electronic devices and small toys. The 2017 Acadia is in GMC showrooms now.

Edmunds says: Many automakers are equipping their vehicles with thoughtful convenience features designed to surprise and delight car shoppers.
