2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition Arrives at Dealerships This Summer

DETROIT — The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition, an "epic" model that honors the Detroit pony car, will arrive at Chevrolet dealerships this summer.

"On September 26, 1966, Chevrolet introduced the world to Camaro," Chevrolet said on its website. "And for millions of people, it was love at first sight. People have written songs about it, made movies starring it and told numerous Camaro stories in the years since.

"So to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of history's most epic cars, we created the most epic Camaro yet."

Pricing will be announced closer to launch date.

The special-edition package is available on the 2017 Camaro coupe and convertible 2LT and 2SS models.

The cosmetic upgrades include Nightfall Gray Metallic exterior paint, specific 20-inch 50th Anniversary wheels and wheel center caps and a unique grille with satin chrome accents. The 2LT model includes the RS appearance package.

The cabin features a unique black leather interior with suede inserts and orange accent stitching.

Key competitors to the Camaro include the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Hyundai Genesis coupe and Nissan 370Z.

Edmunds says: Baby Boomers are the target market, but any car shopper with a sentimental feeling about the Camaro will love this special model.
