2017 Cadillac XT5 Set for Showrooms in April, Priced at $39,990

DETROIT — The 2017 Cadillac XT5 SUV, the successor to the Cadillac SRX, will arrive at Cadillac dealerships in early April with a starting price of $39,990, including a $995 destination charge, Cadillac announced on Wednesday.

It is priced $1,390 more than the outgoing 2016 SRX.

The top-of-the-line 2017 Cadillac XT5 Platinum, a new trim level for Cadillac in this segment, is priced at $63,495, including shipping.

Cadillac dealers are taking orders now for the XT5.

The pricing strategy for the XT5 undercuts some of its key competitors, including the Audi Q5, BMW X5 and Lexus RX 350.

Built on a new platform, the XT5 is equipped with a new 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.

A new twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system is optional.

Edmunds says: The 2017 Cadillac XT5 enters one of the most popular segments in the country with a price under $40,000, which is sure to make it a compelling choice for many luxury shoppers.
