2017 Cadillac ATS, CTS Offered With New Carbon Black Sport Package

DETROIT — Cadillac is jumping on the blacked-out cosmetic trend, offering a new Carbon Black sport package for the 2017 Cadillac ATS and CTS.

The optional package includes a black chrome grille, black wheels and  low-gloss carbon-fiber trim in the cabin. The ATS sedan and coupe get Recaro front seats, and the popular Carbon Fiber package is included on the ATS-V and CTS-V.

Cadillac spokesman Steve Martin said dealers are now accepting orders for the 2017 ATS and CTS. Prices range from $1,800-$3,000 on ATS and CTS models, up to $6,950-$7,800 on the ATS-V and CTS-V.

Production for the 2017 models begins later this summer.

The package can be paired with several exterior colors, including Black Raven, Phantom Gray Metallic, Red Obsession Tricoat and Crystal White Tricoat. Interior color choices include Jet Black or Light Platinum.

The blacked-out appearance look trend began with such products as the 2013 Dodge Charger Blacktop and 2015 Ram 1500 Black Sport.

Chevrolet dealers are offering a number of similar vehicles, including the 2016 Chevrolet Impala Midnight Edition sedan and 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 and Colorado Z71 Midnight Special Editions. They are on sale now.

Key competitors to the ATS include the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Infiniti Q50.

The CTS takes on the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Edmunds says: The Carbon Black sport package allows buyers to customize their 2017 Cadillac ATS and CTS for a relatively affordable price.
