2017 BMW M760i xDrive Roars Into BMW Dealerships Early Next Year

WOODCLIFF LAKE, New Jersey — The all-new 2017 BMW M760i xDrive, the latest addition to the BMW M Performance lineup, arrives at BMW dealerships in early 2017.

Targeting the Audi S8 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class S63 AMG 4Matic, the BMW M760i xDrive combines the most powerful BMW V12 production engine with a no-expenses-spared cabin and the latest in automotive technology.

Pricing will be announced closer to launch date.

BMW estimates that the 6.6-liter V12 will deliver 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard.

The M760i xDrive zips from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

The EPA has not published official fuel economy numbers on the M760i xDrive.

The engine is linked to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a launch-control function that allows "drivers to achieve optimum acceleration on demand," BMW said.

An M Sport exhaust system provides "an emotionally rich soundtrack," according to the automaker.

An Active Comfort Drive with Preview suspension system provides dynamic driving characteristics with comfortable suspension tuning.

Other details include Integral Active Steering, which reduces steering effort and increases maneuverability in city driving and improves directional stability during high-speed driving.

A standard M aerodynamic package bundles a newly designed front fascia, exclusive mirror caps, V12 badges, a rear spoiler and 20-inch M light-alloy wheels.

The cabin features an exclusive M leather steering wheel, M pedals in stainless steel with black rubber inserts and piano black trim.

Standard gesture control can be used to adjust the audio volume and answer phone calls.

The dealership experience promises to be top drawer, focused on saving customers time.

Priority service appointments can be scheduled within 48 hours of the owner's initial request and at their convenience.

BMW Encore Delivery provides a one-on-one follow-up appointment dedicated to answering all questions about vehicle operation.

Edmunds says: BMW finally gives its 7 Series buyers a performance-oriented model to keep them from defecting to Audi, Mercedes and Porsche.
